This and That

Today we went to Deb’s house to add more layers to our experimental watercolors we made at my house about a month ago. I didn’t get any photos of the artwork but take a look at Deb’s pens.

You can’t even see all the colors here. Serious pen envy.

I have a new addition to the studio. I bought a used easel from one of my friends. It takes up way too much space but I want to continue on this painting journey I have been on so I thought it was a good time to get an easel.

I finally finished stitching my cedar trees. They will have a matt so I’ve photographed them with croppers. Now I need to find a new hand stitching project to work on.

  1. Your cedar trees are amazingly 3D and so lifelike.

No such thing as too many pens – they’re just so good to look at aren’t they. The easel will make the painting easier and it will make a good stand to photograph your textile works on too.

      • I use my grand-daughter’s music stand for small pieces – I can position the stand in the best light. I like to use a tripod when i can as the resulting photos are much sharper so having the textile piece upright is good for me.

  2. I just want to pick the cedar up – they are so lifelike with such depth. The pens just say colour immediately.

Great idea about the easel. It can be draped with an appropriate cloth or have a solid background. So I’ve learnt my one thing already for today….thank you….and only just awoken!
