I finished the last three of my botanical series mixed media pieces. I may make a few more of these, I haven’t decided yet. I guess if they sell quickly, I’ll make more!
And a closer view. I didn’t have any more of the plain rusty wire so I used barbed wire instead. I stitched it down to the top layer and then glued everything down with gel medium.
Here is the entire set together. I guess I’ll have to find some flowers that aren’t purple or red for the next set. These will be going into the store next week.
They are all beautiful Ruth. I love the rustic look complemented with the delicate silk. They should fly off the shelves, let us know. Did you wrap the silk on something or did you you fold over the edges of the silk? How big are they?
Thanks Marilyn – All of the fabric is cotton and I coated it with matte medium so it is stiff. They are about 5″x7″ or so.
Thanks. It’s all so beautiful.
Just beautiful Ruth. I love the contrasting textures and the colours are so delicate.
Thanks Judith! I think the wood background really helps.
It’s a very eye-catching set – my individual favourite is the red in the top right corner. A good addition to your shop.
Thanks Lyn – that’s the Indian Paintbrush one that I did first. I like it too.
They’re all really gorgeous, Ruth 🙂
Thanks Zed!
They all look absolutely gorgeous Ruth, I hope the sell really well xo
Thanks Karen – I hope so too 🙂
