I have been gradually adding more couching to my nuno felted paper fabric laminated piece. (That’s a mouthful.)
On the left is where I was last week. On the right is how far I have gotten.

I got started couching various bits of yarn down to the nuno felted paper laminated silk piece.
The photo above shows the entire sample which I am in the midst of stitching. I have a lot more couching to go.
Here’s a little closer view. I am using up scraps of yarn that I have in a variety of green shades and a few reddish-brown ones too. I think this one might take a while.
It’s finally finished. I added just a few more leaves in the background area. You can’t really see them too much but do click on the photos for a better view.
This is the complete piece. I am planning on framing it. My friend Deb suggested that I “float” it over framed matt board so I might try that.
Here’s a close up. The leaves on the lupine closest to the top are the ones I added in several places. I used a bit thinner thread so they weren’t as prominent. So I guess I am on to the next project which is couching on the nuno felted paper fabric lamination piece that I showed you here.
I have continued stitching on the lupines. I added fly stitch to the Indian Paintbrush. It’s many stitches piled on top of each other. For those of you who haven’t done fly stitch, there’s a tutorial here. I used the stitch in a very random manner with different length “arms” and long “stems” so it doesn’t really look like the example in the tutorial at all.
Here’s the full piece now. You can click on the photo to enlarge it. I have also added some leaves to the lupine in the foreground. I used detached chain stitch for the leaves.
And here’s a closer view. I am going to add a few more lupine leaves in the background with thinner threads and then I think it is finished. Hope you have a great weekend!
I have been doing a little stitching on the felt wildflower landscape piece. I added darker French knots after removing a bunch of the lighter ones.
Here’s a photo of the full piece. I am much happier with only a few of the light highlight French knots.
Here’s a closer look at the mix of colors of French knots now. I am finished with the lupines and will be moving on to the red flowers which represent Indian Paintbrush. I think I will be adding fly stitch to those. Then I need to decide if I should add green stitching for leaves. What do you think? Should I add stitched leaves for the lupines?
