Free Motion Stitching On Felt

Still busy working away on my next online class. I’ve been writing, editing photos and making samples.

Stitched Leaves on Felt

I stitched some leaves on this multi colored felt. It was printed on the back but wasn’t the best so I thought it would be great for these leaves.

Oak Leaf with Acorns

I cut them out and now I’m thinking of what I will do with them. Just happened to have a few acorns to add!

Nuno Felted Flower with Leaf

This flower was nuno felted. I think it still needs a few beads in the center if I’m going to use it with this leaf. How would you use felt leaves?

  1. The oak leaf would look good with some felted acorns (as seen on the forum recently).

As well as brooches, they could adorn hats and bags or, if you made a load more, you could make a decorative belt – perhaps for a woollen dress.

    • Thanks Lyn! Yes, I was thinking of those felt acorns when I put the real acorns on there. That’s a cool idea for a belt. It would look pretty on a woolen dress. Or perhaps on a wool coat!

  2. Nice leaves, the acorns were definitely a nice touch. I think if I had enough leaves I’d make a wreath for the front door. I also like Viltmaaraan’s idea of the trivet.

  3. The leaves look great Ruth, I like the ideas to use them as brooches or trim on a hat, alternatively they would look good mounted on a square of fabric or handmade paper and used to decorate a greetings card.
