I am really close to getting my online class finished. I got all the video and photos done for the 4th week. Now I just have to do all the editing and putting bits and pieces together. Amazing how long that takes.
I did some printing on the gelatine plate with thickened dyes on felt. This one was done with one of the new commercial stencils that I got recently.
Not sure if you can see this very well but I put the stencil down on the plastic and it gave a wonderful print. Wish I had put some paper under there.
And who can guess how this felt was printed? The green and red were printed with different objects, can you tell what they were? Have a great weekend!!

I’m guessing that the green and red are vegetables?
Perhaps the red is the cut base of celery?
Oooh the green is a toughy, but maybe a cross-cut of a cabbage?
I agree Lyn, it would have been a great print. But that’s the way it goes when you’re not prepared. And you are exactly right, celery and cabbage. I have felted that piece down now and it looks quite different. I will have to post the photo so you can see it.
I would have never guessed celery and cabbage. Good guess Lyn! The one with plastic is interesting. I’m massive you’ll remove the plastic and there will be some unusual lining.

Shame about the print on the plastic, could you use the plastic in aimed media piece instead. I love the black on red print, it is very striking!
Thanks Teri – unfortunately the dye will just come right off the plastic so it wouldn’t last. Too bad the black on red is on pre-felt. I haven’t felted it down yet but I’m sure it will lose the definition after felting.
Ha! I don’t like celery but maybe will buy some now it has a use – what a great print! 🙂
My printing tutor always encouraged me to try getting “secondary prints” from used screens or stencils – if you remember and have room for a pile of paper just in case!
Yes, celery has its uses. And I agree, I always encourage people to get second prints on paper and then actually forget to do it myself 😉
