Happy Thanksgiving and Bag Exchange

Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for in my life and it’s nice to show my gratitude to my friends and family. I’m also grateful that everyone in fiber blogland is so giving and kind. Thanks!

I participated in a fabric bag swap recently and this is the lovely bag that I received. This is the front side. It’s from Cynthia in Wyoming. The funniest thing is that when I sent an e-mail to Cynthia to thank her, she had visited Whitefish and been in my store! It’s a small world.

Here’s the back of the bag.

And here are a couple of close ups. I love the little pair of scissors! Thanks Cynthia!

Thoughts on a new blog name

OK – We’re on our way to Casper, Wyoming to pick up my m-i-l and bring her back home with us for 6 weeks (oh boy). So I had some time to think about a new name for my blog. The first suggestion is from Vicki – Thanks!

1. Ruth’s Fiber Roundup
2. Fiber Pandemonium
3. Machinations of a Fiber Addict
4. Permutations in Fiber
5. Permutations of a Fiber Addiction
6. Ruth Less —- Fiber More (that one’s from my DH)

Any other ideas out there?

Changes

I’ve been playing around with my blog a bit. Now that I’m participating a bit more in the blogging community instead of just using the blog as a way to host photos to post on different forums I’m involved with, I decided I needed a change. I am planning on changing the header soon and perhaps the name of the blog. If anyone out there has suggestions for a good name – do let me know. I wish I could think of something really creative but every time I think of something, it seems someone has beat me to it. I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Green Padfolio and two other projects in the midst

This first photo is a little taste of what I’m currently working on. It’s a gift for my niece for Christmas. It still has a long way to go. This is based on an article from CPS but I am modifying it to make a notebook cover instead of a wall hanging.

This second photo is based on an article from QA for a book wrap. I think I am going to try and modify it into a padfolio but I want to have irregular edges. We’ll see if I can figure out how to do that and attach the lining/pockets etc. without losing the design of the edge. It still has FME and fabrication to go.

Here’s my completed green padfolio. It has a variety of fabrics and novelty yarns.

Here’s the inside.

Here’s a closeup.
