Another postcard completed! This one is needle felted on the machine, then wet felted, then stitched and needle felted some more, then stitched and stitched and stiched – it seemed like forever. But it looks good finished although a little wonky on the edges. Now I’ve got to figure out whether to send them “naked” in the mail.

I have joined a postcard exchange group on www.art2mail.com and I’m in group #36. We have three months to complete 20 postcards and this is my first. It’s base is a commercial grayish/green fabric that I rust dyed, then added another commercial fabric with FME and some FME gold circles. I made 5 more of the rust dyed backgrounds so you’ll see more of those soon.

Here’s some detail of the gold FME. I’m a newbie to FME but I’m really enjoying it and I think it turned out OK.

At last, I completed my tree. I felted the frame and then made the leaves with FME on Solvy. My friend Barb suggested the curved branch to hang it with and I think it all goes together well.
