Mini Photo Album

This is what I started with. I painted cotton batting with regular (office store) red and blue ink with water added.

I then covered it with Mistyfuse, little cut up bits of ribbon and angelina. I ironed it covered with ironing cloth. Then I FME’d over the entire surface with red thread.

I made it into a mini photo album.

Here’s a closeup.

Here’s the inside. It’s a gift for an old friend of my DH’s.

Another present marked off the list1

This is a Christmas present for my brother-in-law that I made from a rust dyed piece of fabric. I made it into a small quilt which I quilted with variegated thread in a wavy line pattern. I then cut out the holes for the cards that I bought for him in Victoria, BC. I zigzagged the edges of the opening with the same variegated thread.

Here’s the final framed cards. The cards are by Kenna Fair. They are prints of her originals. She does wood cuts which she then paints. The originals were beautiful but unfortunately, I couldn’t afford one of those. So I bought two of her greeting cards.

Here’s the back. I used fusible interfacing to attach the cards. Then I fused the back of the card that tells about Kenna to that.

Here’s a closeup of the top card.

And here’s the explanation of her work. My b-i-l is a bird watcher so I hope he likes it!

Tree Pins

This is just a quick note because we’re having an office Christmas party here at the house in 45 minutes and I haven’t changed my clothes yet. But I wanted to show you these little tree pins that I made for little gifties. Some for the party goers this evening and some for our fiber group party on Thursday. I made 8 altogether. The first ones I couched the eyelash yarn on with blanket stitch. But it took forever and kept getting tangled up. It was a PIA. I glued the remaining ones. So was I doing something wrong or is it always painful to couch eyelash yarn??

PIF comment

This is just a short note as I got a comment on my PIF exchange. Joline – you are set up in blogger as a “no reply” and since you don’t have a blog, I don’t have a way to contact you. I would love for you to be a part of the PIF exchange, but I need an e-mail address so you can send me your snail mail address. If you change your profile in blogger to “reply to this e-mail address” and make another comment here, then I’ll be able to reply to you privately. I hope you get this message as I don’t want you to think that I didn’t reply. =0)

PIF, WIP and UFO

Look what I got in the mail today. It’s a beautiful needle case by Annica. I commented on her blog for her Pay It Forward exchange.

Here’s the other side. I needed a needle case so it’s perfect. Thanks Annica! I’ve only had one comment on my PIF post so if you’d like a piece of my work, you can still comment here.

Here is part of what I worked on last Friday. Did lots of painting. Now I’ve got some bigger pieces to work with for more padfolios. I’ve still got more Christmas presents in mind. We’ll see if I get them all done.

Here is a UFO that I tried to fix. It’s been reincarnated several times and I still don’t think much of it. I guess I’ll have to cut it up and reconfigure it or perhaps I’ll just give up. It seems a total loss to me.
