The last time you saw the iris mixed media painting it looked like this:
I was really unhappy with it and just put it away for a while. But I decided to just cover it with gesso and start over.
Then I repainted it. There is still lots of texture.
You can see more of the texture in this shot.
And here’s a little closer view of the iris. I used acrylic paints and oil pastels. I may add a few more details but it is close to being finished and I am much happier with it.
This one works much better, I love how the blue iris glows, out from the green background. Good for you for going back and sorting it out. Karen
Thanks Karen! It certainly needed something 🙂
What a difference! I agree, the new version is great – I like the red dots.
Thanks Lyn – I liked the red in the last one but it was too overpowering. So just a tiny bit of red this time. Perhaps I learned something from the experience 🙂
I like the latest version. It has a watery look and of course, Irises love to have wet feet. 🙂
Thanks Judith!
Big improvement. I think has a bit if a dreamy look to it.
Thanks Marilyn!
There’s a lot of depth to this version, Ruth, really nice 🙂
Thanks Zed!
I like the simplicity of your latest version – much more minimalist! 🙂
Thanks Kim – yes, the first version was just “too much” for me 🙂
