The Current State of my Studio Room

There is a thread that was started on the Felting and Fiber Studio forum showing everyone’s place where they create their work. So far, there have been really neat and tidy photos with everything in order and looking organized. I thought I would get my room cleaned up but so far it hasn’t happened. And since my room usually looks a mess, I thought I would post what mine looks like right now.

I have converted one of our guest bedrooms over into a studio room. This is looking in through the doorway which is even getting filled up with my stuff.

Here’s my sewing table, can you see the sewing machine? Not…

Here’s my work table. This is where I paint or felt or anything that I need space to work on. Of course, there is no space at the moment. I could iron something small, maybe.

This is a view under the table. I have way too much stuff in this room at the moment. But where to put everything?

Here is another corner of the room with my needle felting machine. As you can tell, I haven’t used that in a while either.

This is one side of the room with all the shelves crammed full of stuff.

And then the other side with more stuff. I think I might win the contest of the most stuff crammed into a studio perhaps.

Just to show you a closer photo of the scarves that I discharged last week.

And if you can make your way across the room and peer out the window, this is what you’ll see.

Usually there are deer when you look out this direction especially in the early evening. But none in sight when I took this photo. The tent on the left holds the boat. Perhaps I should just go pile all my extra stuff on top of the boat?

  1. Being neat and tidy doesn’t suit everyone and judging by the high volume of work that you produce, I think that your studio must suit you just the way it is (lovely view from your window too).

  2. Aah, organized chaos, just my style. I have spread my work around the house in any available space, too. But I don’t have the wonderful view or natural sunlight in my main work area. I find I can’t find things when I put them away. πŸ™‚

  3. Lord Have Mercy. Ha ha. Hope there are no dead animals under there. I am a terrible neat freak. However, I have been in so many exhibits this summer that every room has artwork piled in it. I even sent some to the kids so I could find room. We all have these problems.

Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear your comments so please let me know what you think.
