Look who was up in our tree this morning. This is a tree right by our house with all the bird houses, feeders etc on it. It’s a grouse.
Usually you see grouse on the ground and I’ve never seen one up this high before. He/she sat willingly to get photos taken and stayed in the tree for about three hours.
The colors of his/her feathers were absolutely beautiful and I was glad I could get some close ups to show all of you.

What a wonderful visitor and great close ups. I was out today and there were two sets of fluffy baby geese. Unfortunately my good camera had to be left home and my water camera didn't get good enough shots.Debbie
Wow, that is cool! I've never seen a grouse before. Chris asks if it's a Spruce or Sharp-tailed…..he can't be happy (lie I am) with Grouse! lol!

Gorgeous grouse shots! This year for the first time we have 7 sharp-tailed grouse coming into our yard. My mom began spreading a bit of wheat for them each day. It would be so neat if they came with their young one of these days too.
