Not very exciting felt, but a few pre-felts in preparation for my doll making class next weekend with Kay of Felt Alive.

Here’s a closer look. Next time you see these, they will be doll clothing, hopefully.

Speaking of Kay, look who came to visit! And I finally met Kay in person. Her husband got a photo of us together but I didn’t get one. You’ll just have to wait until next week.

This is another piece of fabric that I painted last week. Not sure what I’m going to use it for but I like it.

Kath got her flowers page for April so I can show it to you now. It’s based on beargrass and indian paintbrush wildflowers. Mainly all hand stitching because I couldn’t use the machine much last month. The big flower is made from Lutradur that I painted. A friend, Jan, gave me a big piece so that I could play with it. Thanks, Jan!

The back ground was hand painted. The edging is layers of fabric and thread collage covered with a green sheer, lattice hand stitched and then burnt back with a heat gun.

Here’s  a closer look at the hand stitching. I used machine threads so it would be very delicate. It seemed to take forever. I made a machined cord to go around the edges and frame it all a bit.

Here’s the back. I used a photo of beargrass and printed it directly on the Lutradur. I didn’t treat the Lutradur and if I do this again, I think I need to get some of that print medium to paint on the Lutradur first. But this worked OK.

Here’s my river rock piece on canvas. My hubbie was a bit concerned that it wasn’t centered but I like the asymmetrical look.

And a closeup. I like the painted canvas and how it makes the felt seem more professionally finished. I am going to be mounting more of my flat felt pieces this way.
