Coaster/Trivet Sets Finished!!

Just have a few minutes. Sorry for the photo quality but the light is going and I’m in a rush. We’ve been really busy this week with Christmas parties, Christmas stroll at the store tonight, Griz game tomorrow etc.

This is the trivet for my M-I-L.

And her coasters.

The same flowers as the last set except for the roses.

Here’s the leaf trivet to go with the leaf coasters.
Here they are together.
Here’s the Griz set drying after I blocked them.
This turned out better than I had hoped.
Maybe I’m getting a little better with FME.

Flower Coaster and Trivet Set

I completed another felted and machine embroidered coaster/trivet set. This one has flowers as it’s theme. I thread sketched these with a multicolor variegated thread and I’m not sure that I like the results.
Here’s the trivet and the pattern is just not well defined.

Here’s the tulip,
the lily,

a made up flower,
a morning glory,
a crocus,
another view of a morning glory,
a columbine,
and a poppy. So what do you think of the thread choice? I am considering going over all the flowers again with a deep purple thread so that the designs stand out more. But I don’t have a lot of time and would prefer to just leave them. What do you think? (sorry about the way this post is set up, blogger is going crazy again.)

More Coasters/Trivets

I made three more sets of coasters and trivets. The final set is in the washing machine spinning out and then they need to be blocked. Both of these sets will have thread sketched flower motifs. The set not pictured is maroon and will be Griz themed for my friend we go to the games with.
It took me all day to do these and my back is a bit sore. I need to get a higher table for felting! I’m going out of town for Thanksgiving and then on to a playoff game this weekend. So I won’t be blogging again until December. I hope all you US readers have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am thankful that I have found so many online fiber friends and appreciate all your kind comments.

Felted Christmas Ornaments

Here are a couple of Christmas ornaments that I’m giving as gifts this year. I’ve got 6 more to make. The ball is wet felted around a whiffle ball with a jingle bell inside. I then needle felted the decorations on the outside. I need to add a small loop for hanging but otherwise they are complete. I have completed another set of coasters but I can’t show those as they are for my sister and she occasionally reads the blog so they will have to wait until after Christmas until show and tell.
We watched the Grizzly/Bobcat football game today and the Griz won! They are undefeated and will be going to the playoffs. Go Griz!

Leaf Coasters Finished

I finished up the leaf coasters. They were all stitched with FME. You can see all them up close below.

I have joined a group of people from all over the world in making a fabric book. We are swapping book pages, there are 14 of us in all. If you’d like to follow our adventures, go visit our new blog The Story of the Traveling Pages. We just got started and the first page isn’t due until January but we’re introducing ourselves and getting started on planning our pages. So go check it out, it’s going to be great fun. I’m not sure what’s going on with blogger but I can’t get these photos to behave themselves.
