I visited New York City last week and found lots of colorful inspiration. We went to the New York Botanical Garden and I took hundreds of photos. These are just a few, plus one of some peacocks from the Staten Island Zoo. I think all of these will be wonderful for developing color palettes.
If you get a chance to visit the botanical gardens it is well worth it. There was also a Frida Kahlo exhibit which we enjoyed.
Lovely photos filled with inspiration!
Thanks Marilyn!
What a wonderful place that must be. Lovely photos. Every year I have a seed pod very similar in my garden – it’s bright red, the pod section is about 5″ tall on a bare green stalk, and I haven’t worked out what it is.
It was a gorgeous garden. I have no idea what the pod was so no help here π
Glad to see I’m not the only one who takes photos of bark, my OH thinks I am mad but I think the the colours and textures are pure inspiration just waiting to be noticed, same goes for dry stone walls and lichens…. Beautiful photos, can’t wait to see your interpretations of them
I have hundreds of bark photos, plus rocks, lichen, pieces of pine cone the squirrels have left in piles and other weird things. I love taking photos of texture and a variety of colors no matter the source.
You have some great palettes there!
Thanks Vicki!
Nice, textured pics! ππππΊ
Thanks!
Lovely pics – sounds like you had a great trip!
Thanks Kim! We had fun π
